Well, Christmas came in a hurry and left even faster. We had a great Christmas this year. I thought to myself how its so funny that a brand new baby completely filled all of my greedy wants before the Christmas season was even here. When Jackie and I would ask each other what we wanted for Christmas, we would both give it hard thought, and all we could come up with was, that we didn't want anything. We already had too much to be thankful for having such a cute, healthy and fun baby boy. I had managed to save enough vacation days to take from Dec. 21st to January 2nd off. It was so much fun being home with Jackie and Gage every day. He is such a morning person (he sure didn't get that from me.) We wake up and feed him around 6am or so and throughout the whole feeding he sits there and smiles at us and tries so hard to laugh. It usually ends with him falling back to sleep with a mouth that is half-full of milk. When we pull the bottle out of his mouth he gives us a huge sleepy grin with his eyes closed and the milk that was pooled in his cheek slowly runs down his chin. He just keeps getting cuter and cuter. We also had a great time dressing him up in Christmas clothes, and he was such a good sport about it.
Christmas eve we all went up to Grandpa and Grandma Blackburn's house and hung out. Christmas morning we woke up when Gage was good and ready, then we went downstairs to check out the loot. We opened our presents from each other then we helped Gage "open" his presents. After we got all done and cleaned up we went to Aunt Missy's house up in West Point and had a very good lunch. Then we headed to both of the grandparents houses. All-in-all....Gage got spoiled rotten!!! Who would have THUNK?!?!?
In the days following Christmas we stayed up way late and slept in. It was so much fun. Jackie and I played with Gage all day, every day. When he would sleep Jackie could be caught making bread in her new mixer and I would fly my small remote control helicopter or "Ghetto Bird" around the house so I could work on my piloting skill with the occationally buzzing the cat. Both Landon and Jason quickly saw how much fun these little helicopters were and with in two days of Christmas we all had them and found ourselves flying them around our house till the wee hours of the morning. (thank goodness for vaulted ceilings.) I was a little more anxious to take the tree down this year, because I knew that it would eliminate a huge flight hazard that been the cause of many wrecks over the few days after Christmas. Over all, it was a wonderful Christmas and everyone was SO generous to us and Gage.
We want to tell you THANKS !!
